HUGE ROSTER MOVE: Eagles Officially Sign WR To Active Roster Ahead of Rams Clash

With the Los Angeles Rams visiting town for an NFC Divisional game, the Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for yet another chilly postseason environment.

The Eagles have made a depth move on the offensive end of the football after linebacker Nakobe Dean suffered a knee injury during their 22-10 Wild Card victory over the Green Bay Packers (via Ian Rapoport on X, formerly Twitter).

“Due to LB Nakobe Dean’s serious knee injury, the #Eagles have placed him on injured reserve and added WR Parris Campbell to the active roster.”

Ian Rapoport Campbell began the 2024–25 season as one of the Eagles’ main wide receivers and has alternated between the practice squad and the regular roster during the season.

The Eagles prioritize the pass offence.

If the Wild Card game is played again, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ passing attack might not make it through another postseason week. In his first game back from injury, Hurts only completed 13 of 21 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns. The franchise gunslinger’s last appearance behind centre was against the Commanders on December 22, thus it was a bit of a tune-up game.

The Rams’ pass rush, which sacked Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold nine times last week, will present the Eagles with a more difficult defensive challenge.

The extent of Campbell’s availability for Sunday’s game is unknown. Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 29, he hauled in four receptions for 17 yards and one score, which was his most recent catch.

As the third option after AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith, the Eagles have also increased the involvement of Jahan Dotson. During last week’s Wild Card triumph, Dotson caught his first touchdown as an Eagle.

For an Eagles receiving corps that needs to improve as the playoffs progress, Campbell is a fantastic insurance choice.
