HUGE APPEAL: 49ers’ Pro Bowler and Star QB Brock Purdy Are Begging Team To Sign $94 Million Star Despite His Contract Agreement

The San Francisco 49ers’ 2025 offseason has just become a little spicy. After putting the Brock Purdy contract talks on hold for a moment, it appeared like San Francisco would be unable to make a significant impact in free agency or the trade market. While the 49ers can certainly keep some big names like Dre Greenlaw and Talanoa Hufanga, the chances of them becoming huge players appear limited, even with $50 million in cap space. However, one 49ers Pro Bowler is urging for the team to sign a perennial defensive player of the year candidate.

49ers Star Advocating to Acquire DPOY Candidates

The 49ers Sign Deommodore Lenoir to a 5-Year $92 Million Extension

During the NFL’s Divisional Round playoffs, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir expressed his desire to acquire Las Vegas Raiders defensive lineman Maxx Crosby via social media.
The message caused immediate discussion within the fan community, with members of the “Faithful” siding with Lenoir.

San Francisco has additional needs, such as rebuilding the interior offensive line or acquiring a strong defensive tackle. However, the prospect of Crosby inflicting harm against Nick Bosa is intriguing.

Crosby, a former Raiders fourth-round pick, has established himself as one of the league’s most dominant and consistent edge rushers since his arrival. Crosby sits sixth in sacks in 2019, two spots behind Bosa, thanks to three seasons with double-digit sack totals. With nine forced fumbles and 423 total pressures in six seasons, the Eastern Michigan product is regarded as a formidable opponent.

Lenoir’s remarks are not the first time Crosby has been linked to the San Francisco 49ers. Crosby’s name was mentioned since general manager John Lynch is known for making big moves around the trade deadline. A trade never materialized, but Crosby has been open about his potentially dimming future in Silver and Black.

Is Crosby open to a trade?

Raiders' Maxx Crosby Still Cherishes 'Legendary' Fans in Oakland
On Friday, Crosby appeared on Good Morning Football and discussed trade rumours involving his name.

“Yes, I see all of those things. Right now, I’m simply focusing on my journey and getting healthier on a daily basis. We will see what happens with the coaching scenario. I have been with the Raiders for six years and am currently under contract. I mentioned it before: I have no guaranteed money left. There are numerous topics that need to be considered. “We’re going to do that.”

Crosby said that he is thrilled but has been vocal about his goal to win the Super Bowl. If the Las Vegas Raiders go through another rebuild, moving Crosby may be a win-win situation, if San Francisco is not involved.

Acquiring Crosby will not be cheap, with the asking price starting at a first-round pick or higher. However, the 49ers have a lot to offer. With the 11th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the 49ers can afford to go proactive. Let us not forget that the last time San Francisco selected someone outside of the top ten, they risked their future by selecting Trey Lance.

Unlike Lance, Maxx Crosby is a proven superstar who can help the 49ers win now. If San Francisco is serious about making the most of their window, they will consider making a move.

According to Over the Cap, Maxx Crosby is under contract until 2026, and any acquiring team would owe him $42.8 million. Nonetheless, his deal includes no guaranteed money, making it much easier to swallow. With three blank years on his contract, the 49ers may extend him while lowering his 2025 and 2026 cap hits.

The 49ers should make one acquisition this offseason: trading for Maxx Crosby. He is a game-changing player who would work well with Nick Bosa and could propel San Francisco to the top.
