“Victory For Georgia”: Georgia Have Officially Confirmed The Committement Of 3,995-Yard QB To Replace Carson Beck

Changes are on the way at quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs, and head coach Kirby Smart appears to be considering adding another veteran to next season’s competition. The Dawgs lost starting quarterback Carson Beck to the Miami Hurricanes through the college football transfer portal.

Beck’s decision to the portal surprised many, considering the quarterback had previously proclaimed his plan to enter the 2025 NFL Draft. Instead, Beck joins a Miami program that might compete with Georgia as one of the few college football clubs considered title contenders in 2025.
Jaden Rashada, a former highly praised signal caller, is also expected to enter the transfer portal. Georgia might rely on Gunner Stockton to be the team’s permanent quarterback, but the program would benefit from adding some competition this offseason.

Ryan Puglisi is also on the Bulldogs’ roster, and four-star prospect Ryan Montgomery joined the team in the 2025 class. Georgia and Florida are reportedly vying for a QB transfer.
According to Pete Nakos of On3.com, Florida and Georgia are among the teams who have reached out to Buffalo Bulls quarterback C.J. Ogbonna.

“Florida and Georgia have been in contact with a transfer quarterback, On3 has learned,” Nakos stated. “Buffalo quarterback C.J. Ogbonna has received interest from the Gators and Bulldogs since entering the transfer portal last week,” his agent Bryan Miller told On3.

“The Bulls’ starting quarterback threw for 2,381 yards and 19 touchdowns this year. He also carried 343 yards and scored eight touchdowns. He’s a former Southeast Missouri State transfer who has passed for 3,995 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions.

If the Dawgs can sign Ogbonna, he is far from a lock to be the team’s starting quarterback, but he might fight for the position. Ogbonna attended Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia, an Atlanta suburb just a short drive from Athens.
