BREAKING: 49er Have Officially Agreed a Blockbuster Trade To Land Brown Myles Garrett Ahead Of Josh Allen Bills

It will take a lot of effort to pry Myles Garrett away from the Cleveland Browns. However, other teams may be interested in going in that route on the defensive side. And here’s the ideal trade the San Francisco 49ers should make with the Browns for Garrett.

Garrett stated on Monday that he would rather play elsewhere than with the struggling Browns franchise. The comments were made in a statement obtained by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, according to nfl.com.

“As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl — and that goal fuels me today more than ever,” Garrett shared. “My passion for the Northeast Ohio community and the Cleveland Browns’ great fanbase have made this one of the most difficult decisions of my life. The last eight years have shaped me into the man I am today.

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett (95) warms up before the game against Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.

“While I’ve enjoyed calling this city home, my passion to win and compete on the largest platforms will not allow me to become complacent. The goal was never to move from Cleveland to Canton; it was always to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I’ve requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns.”

Browns DE Myles Garrett would fit with the 49ers.

Imagine the dread of NFL offences having to game plan against Nick Bosa on one end and Garrett on the other. Every pass play would be an adventure in attempting to defend the quarterback.

Of course, the Niners will have to make the correct trade. They can’t afford to make the same mistake the Vikings did in the early 1990s, when they unloaded too many draft picks to get Herschel Walker, setting up the Cowboys’ Super Bowl appearance.

So the 49ers’ ideal offer would include two first-round picks in exchange for at least a third- and fifth-round pick. Ideally, both of those return picks should be in the 2025 NFL Draft.

According to Clevelandbrowns.com, the Browns have publicly said that they are not interested in trading Garrett.

According to General Manager Andrew Berry, the situation is straightforward. When specifically requested: “If someone sees you at dinner tonight and says, ‘We’ll give you two ones for Myles do you say I’m not interested?'”

Berry responded, “That’s correct. You can videotape that.”We are quite optimistic about Myles being a key part of our future. We’re looking forward to having him on the field. As I stated in my (early January) press conference, we envision him moving from Cleveland to Canton after his career ends.”

So either Garrett isn’t going anywhere, or the Browns are trying to acquire more than two first-round picks for him.
When a potential Super Bowl win is on the line, teams will sometimes go above and beyond. The question is whether the Browns’ star will push the 49ers over the top. And the answer appears to be yes, with one exception. The 49ers need to stay healthy.

How far could the 49ers get by signing Myles Garrett?

If San Francisco has a full complement of offensive studs available for the majority of the regular season and into the playoffs, having Garrett on defence puts them in a solid position to win the Super Bowl in 2025.

Furthermore, because the 49ers would finish low in the draft order for the next few seasons, dealing two first-round picks would be no different than a team surrendering a pair of high second-round selections. And it’s difficult to find star players at the end of the first round. Not impossible. But it’s more tough.

With the eighth-most cap space in the league ($48.3 million), the 49ers could sign Garrett for numerous years. They wouldn’t be concerned about their pass rush for years.

However, they must consider signing some of their own free agents. Linebacker Dre Greenlaw and cornerback Charvarius Ward are among those who stand out on defence.

Kyle Shanahan, the head coach, has already demonstrated his ability to be versatile in terms of defensive strategy. He stated that he is open to modifying the team’s approach even before Garrett’s name was mentioned, according to Sports Illustrated.

“I love the scheme that we’ve had here,” Shanahan added. “I believe it is one of the most difficult things to go to when you have the right people in the appropriate positions. However, I believe that individuals adjust to schemes, and that you must also adjust based on your personnel. And I believe it was a tougher thing for us this year.

“Just coming into the season, it was a little harder than previous seasons, and some of the injuries we had, I believe, made it more difficult for Nick. And I think he improved as he tried new things. But I believe it is something that must be addressed; I am not suggesting that you change programs. However, you must have the capacity, history, and understanding to change things up in specific scenarios. And I believe we will need it more in the future.”
