BREAKING: “It sure sounds like Myles Garrett wants to play for the Commanders” Commanders GM Adam Peters Issues a Shocking Update on Commanders Latest Trade Proposal

All eyes were on Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett as he appeared on Radio Row ahead of this weekend’s Super Bowl. As predicted, the top pass-rusher was questioned about reports linking him to a trade to the Washington Commanders.

Garrett’s dissatisfaction with the situation in Cleveland prompted the perennial All-Pro to submit an official trade request. The commanders require pass-rushing support. It would be irresponsible for general manager Adam Peters to pass up this major opportunity to acquire one of the game’s top players, regardless of position.

Garrett would be a costly acquisition. The Browns are apparently unwilling to hear bids right now. They still have the advantage, though that may change if the former No. 1 overall pick out of Texas A&M forces the issue.

If Cleveland starts taking calls, the Commanders won’t be the only ones who want Garrett. Of all the rumoured trade targets and conjecture, this is the one they should go all in on after coming so close to winning the Super Bowl.

Myles Garrett is interested in joining the Commanders via trade this offseason.

When chatting with Sports Illustrated, Garrett believes he could be the pass-rushing weapon Washington requires to overcome its current struggles. He also believes that there is no better overall defender in the league right now.

“I believe they need a pass rusher. That was something they sorely lacked during the playoffs and several of their major games. And I believe I could fit that job. But I believe that’s a job that some teams require. I consider myself not only a pass rusher, but also the most well-known defensive player in the game. And I believe that is invaluable in itself.”

How about this one from ESPN’s Mina Kimes interview? Garrett expressed his desire to play with the Commanders, especially given Jayden Daniels’ status as a true franchise quarterback. He is someone the edge threat believes will only progress further following his outstanding debut performance.

“Absolutely. He looked terrific. I mean, he looked amazing when we played them. However, he really exposed his backside during the playoffs. And, you know, he’s really done it and been extremely composed throughout the season, and he can only continue to thrive if he keeps his head down and works hard.”

Would Myles Garrett enjoy playing alongside a rising star like Jayden Daniels?

“Absolutely.”

Call me crazy, but Garrett was almost encouraging the Commanders to compete.

Of course, he will be considering other teams. Much will also depend on the Commanders’ willingness to pay a king’s ransom to obtain his services. However, if Peters can reach an agreement with Browns general manager Andrew Berry, the defensive powerhouse will likely approve the transaction quickly.

Myles Garrett

Garrett’s impact on Washington’s defence is simply impossible to predict. He’s a great disruptor, a relentless force capable of dominating games when firing on all cylinders. This would not be a gamble. This is as close to a sure thing as you can get anywhere, at any time.

The commanders have a shot. Their Super Bowl window is open, and Garrett has made no secret of his respect for the new regime’s strong start. The pieces are progressively coming into place, but this is far from a foregone conclusion just yet.

Fans are anxiously anticipating developments as the offseason progresses. Acquiring Garrett would instantly elevate the Commanders from a dark horse to one of the Super Bowl favourites.

It remains to be seen whether this will become a reality.
