BREAKING: Michigan Fans Rejoice After Ohio State Announces Major Ryan Day News

Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes made an incredible run to finish the 2024 season and capture the 2025 national title. From December to January, the Buckeyes outscored the Tennessee Volunteers, Oregon Ducks, Texas Longhorns, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish by an average of nearly 18 points. The end result was a trophy in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff and a beautiful new contract deal for Day.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Day and the university have agreed to a seven-year contract that will keep the head coach at the program until 2031, paying him $12.5 million each year. Buckeyes fans appear to be overjoyed by this. Fans of Ohio State’s biggest opponent, the Michigan Wolverines, look to be happy as well.

You see, Ryan Day has a Michigan issue. Only a few months ago, the same Ohio State fans who are now celebrating Day’s contract extension were screaming for his dismissal following his fourth consecutive loss to the Wolverines, this time at home as 19.5-point favourites. So it’s understandable that when Michigan supporters learned on Thursday morning that Day would be staying for the near future, they were ecstatic about the prospect of extending their winning run to five, six, or more games. Here’s how the Wolverines reacted to the news:

In actuality, Ohio State made an excellent decision to prolong Day. He shown this year, despite the terrible loss to Michigan, that he is an exceptional head coach capable of bringing a team together and inspiring them to play harder than ever before. Day’s career record against non-Michigan teams is 69-6, indicating that he is doing something right. He simply needs to show that he can beat Michigan on a semi-regular basis, and this contract will begin to seem even better.
