AGGRESSIVE MOVE: Commanders Are Aggressive and Desperate Moving To Sign New Orlean Saint Most Experienced and Fan Favourite Star In Free Agency

Multiple teams see Saints free agent cornerback Paulson Adebo as a top pick this offseason. According to Jeremy Fowler, New Orleans is unlikely to re-sign Adebo since everyone expects him to have a high market value. The Saints will be unable to keep Adebo due to a lack of financial resources, thus it is safe to assume he will wear a new uniform next season. What’s remarkable is that Fowler says Adebo will sign a huge contract despite coming off a horrific season-ending injury.

Originally taken in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the cornerback had a spectacular 2023 season before slowing down the following year. Top healthy free agents often sign larger contracts, and Fowler believes Adebo will be one of them. It will be fascinating to see what type of deal Adebo earns, but several clubs are looking at him, which comes as no surprise given Marshon Lattimore’s success with the Washington Commanders since leaving New Orleans. This is not to imply that he will produce the same results as Lattimore, but he has a decent chance of carving out a starting role with a new team and exceeding expectations in week one.

Saints CB Paulson Adebo believes contract will 'take care of itself'
Adebo has said unequivocally that he wishes to explore the possibilities of free agency. If the issue is still ongoing and the Saints do not have the funds, it would be a significant blow to their secondary. Despite missing the rest of the season, he recorded 52 tackles, one tackle for loss, and three interceptions. Multiple teams, including the Chargers and Commanders, should be interested in him.

“Multiple Teams” View Saints free agent Paulson Adebo as a top-tier fit for the Chargers and Commanders. He might help rebuild Harbaugh’s secondary.

The Los Angeles Chargers entered the 2024 season with lots of bright spots on offence and defence. The pass defence held up its half of the deal as the offence struggled with the passing game. However, it all came to an end in the wild-card round when C.J. Stroud discovered their weakness. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh may want to rebuild quarterback Justin Herbert’s passing game, but that cannot happen until they also prioritize repairing the secondary.

Kristian Fulton is an imminent free agent who must re-sign to a new contract after surprised many with his performance after signing a one-year contract. Meanwhile, Tarheeb Still and Cam Hart show a lot of promise, but they’re still learning out the league and how to make an impact. Paulson Adebo should be at the top of their priority list, and they may be willing to pay him handsomely because they have the funds. Adebo, followed by Fulton, would provide starting depth for this team’s secondary unit.

Reunion with Lattimore?
Adebo has a decent chance of reuniting with Lattimore if the Commanders can figure out how to prolong him. Washington entered the 2024 season with a lot of promise on offence, but with a failing secondary, the team was forced to cut Emmanuel Forbes from the roster. He wasn’t doing anything to help Benjamin St-Juste, but the move for Lattimore made the difference.

The Commanders have $63 million to sign Adebo. Pairing him with Lattimore would make the secondary more potent. The chemistry was excellent in New Orleans with a struggling club, and the sky is the limit in Washington with their ownership shift, so they might achieve a lot of success if they pull this off.
