Already, the Tennessee football team has seven verbal commitments for the 2026 class. That’s right, head coach Josh Heupel and his coaches have been working hard to secure early pledges, but Vols supporters now have an offensive playmaker to worry about.
Carson Sneed, a four-star tight end, revealed in August that he would be attending Tennessee, effectively ending his recruitment in favour of the in-state Vols. However, teams have not ceased wooing the Nashville product, with Miami and Mario Cristobal increasing their efforts. Sneed plans two visits to meet with the Canes later this year. This is not good for Heupel.

First up, Sneed will make an unofficial trip to Miami for spring ball. Then, according to his 247Sports page, he’ll make his official visit to Coral Gables on June 6. Sneed’s two different visits to school indicate a strong interest in the Canes.
This is something that makes many Vols fans worried. Throughout his recruiting, he has had 40 offers. In addition to being rated four stars, Sneed is the No. 10 tight end in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.
He’s one of the best tight ends in his class, which is why Tennessee, Miami, and many other teams are vying for his signature next winter. Tennessee was able to win a big recruiting fight to secure his commitment, but nothing is final for him, and he can make as many visits as he wants.
When Tennessee’s spring camp begins, Heupel should bring his future tight end back to Knoxville to remind him of the great future he will have if he decides to play college football with the Volunteers. Miami is going all in to get him to flip, which would be a disappointment for the entire UT staff if it fails.
