Manny Machado has developed a reputation as a troublemaker. He created waves this past postseason alone, during the San Diego Padres’ NLDS game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, when he threw a ball towards the Dodgers dugout, nearly striking manager Dave Roberts. This sparked a brawl between the two squads, and it’s evident that there would be no love lost between them by 2025.
Machado, on the other hand, wants to change his ways. After all, each new season opens up the chance of fresh outcomes. The Padres third baseman is looking forward to the upcoming season, as they hope to finish what they started and dethrone the Dodgers.
“The past is past.” I’m excited to compete again this year and try to take them down. “We’re ready, and we’re going to compete and possibly bring a title to San Diego,” Machado told 97.3 The Fan San Diego on X (previously Twitter).
The Padres third baseman went so far as to declare that he did not recall the incident between him and the Dodgers manager.
“I am not sure what it was, man. That is in the past. I completely forgot about it until you brought it up. “I’m just ready to go out there and compete with our guys, and hopefully hold the trophy that they held up,” Machado said.
While Machado’s demeanor in the interview is calm, don’t expect him to play nice all of a sudden on the field. The Padres star is one of the sport’s most fierce competitors, so expect him to get up to some shenanigans once more, especially when they meet the Dodgers.
Manny Machado and the Padres want to launch a revenge tour.
The Padres came so close to defeating the Dodgers in the NLDS before their bats turned cold and failed to generate runs near the end of the series. The quality gap between the two teams is small, so the Padres, as long as they maintain their 2024 levels, should continue to make the Dodgers sweat.
Manny Machado, in particular, is anticipated to continue to play a prominent role for the Padres. Last season, he hit 29 home runs and drove in 105 runs, earning the National League’s 3B Silver Slugger Award.
