MIAMI (AP) – Rimas Sports, the agency co-owned by Puerto Rican musical artist Bad Bunny and whose executives have been suspended by the baseball players’ union, announced a management agreement with San Diego Padres standout Fernando Tatis Jr. on Tuesday.
Rimas stated that it will supervise marketing, brand relations, and other services, aiming to “expand his portfolio as an athlete, businessman, and philanthropist.”
In 2021, Tatis and the Padres signed a $340 million, 14-year contract negotiated by MVP Sports, led by Dan Lozano.
According to Rimas Sports, Bad Bunny has formed a collaboration with executives Noah Assad and Jonathan Miranda. The business claims to represent Atlanta’s Ronald Acuña Jr., Colorado’s Ezequiel Tovar, and New York Mets’ Francisco Alvarez.
The Major League Baseball Players Association revoked Rimas’ William Arroyo’s agent license in April and refused certification to Assad and Miranda, citing a $200,000 interest-free loan and a $19,500 present. The union imposed a $400,000 fine for wrongdoing.
Last October, Arbitrator Ruth M. Moscovitch affirmed the union’s five-year suspensions of Assad and Miranda while reducing Arroyo’s penalty to three years.
U.S. District Judge Jennifer H. Rearden in Manhattan set a Feb. 18 deadline for Assad, Miranda, and Arroyo to respond to the union’s move to confirm the ruling, but no answer has been submitted.
