South Bend, Indiana (WNDU) – The Notre Dame women’s basketball team is preparing for another tournament run, but not before receiving further recognition from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
In addition to earning a berth on the All-ACC First Team, sophomore star Hannah Hidalgo was awarded both the ACC Player and the ACC Defensive Player of the Year.
Hidalgo is the fourth Notre Dame player to be selected ACC Player of the Year (Jewell Loyd, Kayla McBride [Coaches’ Poll], and Brianna Turner), and the fourth sophomore to do so. This is also her second consecutive year as ACC Defensive Player of the Year.
As if those conference awards weren’t enough, Hidalgo was named one of five finalists for this year’s Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, which goes to the nation’s best shooting guard.
In addition to Hidalgo, Olivia Miles, Sonia Citron, Liatu King, and Kate Koval received ACC accolades for outstanding achievements this season.
Olivia Miles: All-ACC First Team.
Sonia Citron: All-ACC First Team; All-ACC Defensive Team.
Liatu King: All-ACC Second Team.
