Many former Green Bay Packers players have learned that they will be playing for a new team in 2025. Most notably, Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, and Allen Lazard will play elsewhere this season.
However, one former starter has just signed a huge contract to stay put.
Breaking: Former Packers starter signs massive 3-year contract.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Seahawks defensive tackle Jarran Reed will return to the organization on a three-year contract worth up to $25 million:
Reed is coming off a good season with Seattle, where he recorded 4.5 sacks, 5 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble over 17 games. His 680 snaps was second among Seattle defensive lineman behind Leonard Williams.
The contract locks him out of free agency.
Reed, 32, has been the Seahawks’ last link to their “Legion of Boom”-era defenses, having been picked in the second round by Seattle from Alabama in 2016.
He spent his first five seasons with the Seahawks, who dismissed him in 2021 due to a contract dispute. After that, he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, then played for the Green Bay Packers in 2022 before returning to Seattle in 2023.
