JUST IN: Dodgers and Manager Dave Roberts Strike Groundbreaking, Record-Shattering Extension Deal

According to a report by Jon Heyman of MLB Network on Monday, the Dodgers and their World Series-winning manager, Dave Roberts, have reached an agreement to extend Roberts’ contract, which will keep him in Los Angeles until the 2029 season. Dave Roberts of the Dodgers gets a huge deal extension.

Heyman claims that the deal will pay Roberts somewhat more than $8 million a season, more than the $8 million average compensation that Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell currently receives.

The deal is anticipated to be formally announced by the Dodgers in the next few days. Due to their trip to Tokyo, the club begins the season one week ahead of 28 other teams. On March 18, Japan will play the Cubs in the Tokyo Series.
Since taking over as manager in 2016, Roberts has guided the Dodgers to the postseason each season. With the Dodgers, he has won two World Series titles and four NL pennants, giving him a stellar managerial resume.

His total win % is.627. An extension was well deserved by the 52-year-old boss. He made it possible for them to meet expectations and win the World Series this past season, even though his team is incredibly talented. In the 2024 World Series, the Dodgers won their second title in five seasons after defeating the Yankees in five games.

Following a disastrous 2023 postseason exit in which they were swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLDS, Roberts faced criticism. However, he responded forcefully to the criticism and was rewarded with a long-term deal.

With the addition of Blake Snell and Roki Sasaki to an already outstanding rotation and the retention of all its key players, Los Angeles has enormous hopes once more. In order to keep them from becoming baseball’s next dynasty, other clubs will be trying to defeat them.
