BREAKING: Padres Star Makes a Strong Roster Request Ahead of 2025 Season

Gavin Sheets, a San Diego Padres slugger, is determined to make the Opening Day roster during Spring Training.

Padres’ Gavin Sheets has been dominating at the plate, hitting one home run in each of the last three games. They’ve appeared from the first to the ninth innings (h/t Gaslamp Ball’s Matt DeWalt).

The 28-year-old now leads San Diego in home runs (3), RBIs (7), and total bases (17) in Cactus League action. Sheets also has a.767 OPS. However, his.194 batting average might be improved.

Will Sheets join the Padres’ Opening Day roster?
The Maryland native has solidified his case as a depth piece for the Padres to start the 2025 season.

San Diego has a stacked batting order, with at least seven spots guaranteed.

However, with the organization looking for a replacement for starter first baseman Jake Cronenworth this offseason, they could keep Sheets based on his impressive Spring Training performance in the hopes that he can deliver excellent play at the plate.

The soon-to-be five-year MLB veteran has a career average of 17 home runs and 65 RBIs in 162 games. He has hit double-digit homers in each season.

With 15 games remaining in the Cactus League, the Padres will evaluate their whole roster. Sheets will have the best chance of making the final squad if he continues to play as he does now.
