“The big thing was, ‘What was the recovery time?'” Fox informed reporters on Friday. “‘Did we want to risk missing — what would it be — half the offseason or whatever it was?’ So you want to be able to spend the entire offseason with the guys while also being able to play on the court. So that was a major factor in the decision-making.”
“Fox informed us after the game. “After the last game, he said it would most likely be the last because he needed to take care of his finger,” Spurs forward/center Sandro Mamukelashvili said. “Everybody was outraged because—as I mentioned—
He was hooping, but hoping the procedure goes well and he recovers quickly. “Hopefully, he’ll be prepared to go.”
Fox claimed he also made the announcement before the Spurs’ impending trip to Los Angeles, where his doctor will perform the surgery.
The Spurs guard stated that he is having problems with his twisted pinkie finger.
“It just gets in the way when I try to catch the ball.
“I’ve worked out without it, and I’ve hit it while working out,” Fox informed me.
“If it were my right hand, I think it’d be OK. I guess I’d continue to experiment with it. But it was harming my left hand’s ability to dribble and shoot, which was a significant reason why I wanted it corrected.”
The Spurs will play host to the Charlotte Hornets on Friday and the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday before traveling to Los Angeles to face the Lakers.
