The Lions had remarkable luck staying within the state to land Hutchinson, the former Michigan Wolverines standout who was selected second overall in the 2022 NFL draft.
Kyle Stackpole of CBS Sports anticipated that the Lions will choose Grant, but added that the defensive lineman’s status is questionable after an injury prevented him from working out for NFL teams this winter.
“It was a major bummer that a hamstring strain kept Kenneth Grant from working out at the NFL combine, but he’s still a massive, super athletic interior defensive lineman with a ton of room to grow,” says Stackpole.

Other Options for Detroit
The Lions earned their second consecutive NFC North title in 2024, finishing 15-2 before being eliminated in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.
The team’s success was largely due to its efforts to construct the roster from the top down, with Holmes drafting well and adding quality through free agency.
This might allow the Lions to look at other positions in the NFL draft, such as the offensive line. Kyle Crabbs, a 33rd Team reporter, suggested the Lions may consider Alabama guard Tyler Booker, a gritty interior player who matches Detroit’s approach on the line.

What is the greatest method to weather the storm? Collect a few great culture fits for your locker room. Booker’s bully mentality definitely fits the bill.
