
The Chicago Bears have been busy this offseason, looking to acquire more talent around young franchise quarterback Caleb Williams. During the 2024 NFL season, the offensive line was a serious concern. Williams was under way too much pressure. Ryan Poles and the Bears wasted little time this offseason addressing that issue. Chicago made two deals to improve its line, acquiring Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney. Both guys will assist Williams stay upright and give him more time to make plays with the football. However, the pressure is now on Williams to demonstrate that he can lead the franchise.

“In year two, they will start looking for you to accomplish some things. “In year three, they expect you to make a significant leap,” Johnson added. “If you don’t make that leap in year three, they’re going to look at who gets picked in the 2027 NFL draft. They’ll start looking at them and saying, ‘I really like the way that person tosses the football.’ And now you’re concerned that they won’t pick up your fifth-year option because you’re moving. So Caleb is under a lot of strain. It truly is.
