EXPOSED: In a Heated, Controversial Conversation, Rams GM Samuel Lester Snead Makes Brutal Confession That Could End an Era

Sean McVay did not get to enjoy his 30s like most people.  He has been the Los Angeles Rams’ head coach for the past eight seasons. Since taking over, he has led the team to six playoff berths and two Super Bowl appearances. McVay beat out former Oakland Raiders coach Lane Kiffin, who is now the head coach at Ole Miss. Kiffin was 31 years and 8 months old when Al Davis hired him in 2007. Les Snead, Rams general manager, discussed his working relationship with McVay during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday.

“We employed him when he was thirty years old.  That tale has been written, correct? Snead said. “You reverse engineer it, and it’s a no-brainer.” We should have employed him when he was 29.  I’ve frequently joked with Sean, ‘There’s no doubt we’ve altered your life for the better, but boy, did we probably damage it, too.’

“At 30-39, you can be a professional while still having fun and not have to be the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams.” So there’s a sense that I’m a big brother. We have this cool relationship where, you know, we can go out and watch a boxing match and then go have a beer afterwards.”
