Green Bay was tied for third in the league with 33 drops, while Christian Watson suffered a devastating ACL injury against the Chicago Bears in week 18.

However, according to reports today, Gutekunst may have received a significant advantage in selecting their next wide receiver.

According to ESPN’s Jordan Reid, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst was the only NFL general manager that attended Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan’s private workout on Monday.

McMillan is presently ranked ninth overall on the consensus big board, and Reid sees him as a “strong contender” to be the first wide receiver off the board, most likely in the top part of the first round. The Packers hold the No. 23 overall pick, but they also have a receiving need, so the organization is likely working hard on the top pass-catchers in the class, including McMillan, in case a player drops or a trade-up opportunity presents itself.

According to Reid, McMillan (6-4, 219) ran the 40-yard dash in the 4.52-4.56 zone during the workout, which is fairly fast for a receiver his size.
