After signing a big contract with the Tennessee Titans that will pay him more than $20 million per year, former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Dan Moore Jr. is determined to prove the Titans right and the critics incorrect.
Moore, who received a four-year, $82 million contract with more than $50 million guaranteed, was the highest-paid tackle in free agency, surpassing Ronnie Stanley, who re-signed with the Baltimore Ravens.
Moore faces high expectations, which he hopes to meet.
“Obviously, I want to exceed expectations, but it’s not only about proving the team right, it’s about proving myself right,” Moore told reporters. “I believe that my expectations for myself will always exceed those of others. I believe that by fulfilling my expectations, I will exceed the team’s expectations. So, not only do I want to show them right, but I want to prove them damn right, to the point where they believe, “We got our guy.” He did more than just what we asked him to do. He did that and more. That is the consensus I seek throughout the organization.”
Moore, the Steelers’ fourth-round pick out of Texas A&M in the 2021 NFL Draft, started all four seasons for the team, totaling more over 60 starts.
He led the NFL in sacks allowed in 2024, so this trade could backfire for the Titans, who need needed offensive line help.
Moore’s contract is expected to net the Steelers a third-round compensatory selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, giving them many extra picks they would not have had otherwise.
