Jared Curtis, a five-star quarterback in the class of 2026 with offers from Georgia and Oregon, has disclosed his commitment date.
Curtis (6-foot-3.5, 225 pounds) helped Nashville Christian School (Tennessee) win the Division II-A championship and had a 10-2 season as a junior. According to MaxPreps, he completed 70.2% of his throws for 2,830 yards and 40 touchdowns, with only three interceptions, while adding 637 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground.
According to On3, Curtis is the nation’s top quarterback and the fifth-best player in his class. He had committed to the Bulldogs in March of last year, but backed out in October.
Curtis has visited his top two programs several times and will return to the Bulldogs on April 12 for the G-Day spring scrimmage. Curtis will also have official visits to Oregon (June 6) and the University of Georgia (June 13).
However, Curtis intends to be committed throughout the majority of his spring and summer trips, as the highly sought-after quarterback has set a commitment date of May 5.
Will Curtis take a risk on the West Coast with Lanning and Oregon, or fall?
Will Curtis take a chance on the West Coast with Lanning and Oregon, or will he stick with Smart and his hometown Athens?
That remains the question, although it’s difficult to picture the two perennial powers backing off the gas pedal with just over a month till Curtis makes his selection.
