One of the Miami Dolphins’ key players has been the subject of trade rumors throughout the offseason. In this proposed trade, that guy will move up north to a team in need of a true number-one wide receiver. Tyreek Hill, a five-time All-Pro wide receiver, would be traded to the Green Bay Packers for the 224th selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. In exchange, the Dolphins would get two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander, wide receiver Romeo Doubs, and the 198th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Miami has a major hole at the second cornerback spot. Adding Alexander opposite Jalen Ramsey would be a significant improvement.
Kader Kohou would play nickelback, making the trio one of the strongest cornerback groups in the NFL. Alexander has played only seven games in each of the previous two seasons. In a new environment and as the number two cornerback, Alexander’s objective is to start the entire season. With Hill’s departure, the Dolphins gain a 25-year-old receiver in the final year of his contract. Miami’s new-look wide receiver room would include Jaylen Waddle, Romeo Doubs, Nick Westbrook-Ikhene, and Malik Washington. Doubs has served on a committee in Green Bay and may finally have a solid role with the Dolphins. Following this move, Miami may also explore wide receivers in the draft.
This decision makes a lot of sense for the Packers. It entails dismissing Alexander and Doubs, both of whom are unlikely to be on the squad in 2026, and getting an outstanding wide receiver, which the teams have been searching for. Miami would receive a major upgrade as number two cornerback while also adding a good receiver opposite Waddle. They would also move up 26 positions in the draft, which would make it even more appealing for Miami to trade Hill.
It’s a gigantic blockbuster transaction that will shake up the NFL. But Miami would be in a lot better position. It would have a young receiver, increased draft resources, and a significant defensive upgrade.
