The Pittsburgh Steelers will meet with Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers before his pro day on Tuesday, according to Athlon Sports’ John Hendrix. Ewers had dinner with the New Orleans Saints prior to his pro day, but he also visited with the Las Vegas Raiders, the New York Jets, and plans to meet with the Miami Dolphins afterward.

This is the second quarterback the Steelers have expressed strong interest in throughout the pro day process. Jalen Milroe dined with the Steelers last week when the team’s top leadership traveled to Alabama. Tyler Shough also visited Pittsburgh before to the draft.

Ewers, a talented recruit who first signed with Ohio State before transferring to Texas, has extensive playing experience. However, with natural tools that shouted upside, many believed it would happen. It never happened, and now Ewers is anticipated as a mid-round choice instead.

In the 2024 season, Ewers had a career-high 31 touchdowns but also threw 12 interceptions while racking up 3472 passing yards, helping lead Texas to a College Football Playoff run.

Throughout his career, Ewers passed for over 9000 yards, 68 touchdowns, and only 24 interceptions. That track record is a valuable asset in Ewers’ hat, and he has demonstrated the ability to take care of the ball while leading his side to difficult victories.
