All eyes are on the San Diego Padres, who have one more roster choice to make before opening day.
Padres’ Oscar Gonzalez may have secured the final roster berth.

According to Valentina Martinez of the San Diego Padres, the final roster place is currently down to Oscar Gonzalez, Connor Jo,e, and Brandon Lockridge, among a few more players.
Gonzalez’s performance in Spring Training may have impressed Padres manager Mike Shildt more than his teammates. His performance at the plate was impressive. In a team-leading 55 at-bats, the 27-year-old has a respectable.400/.431/.564 slash line and a.995 OPS. Gonzalez has also hit a team-best seven doubles.
Gonzalez might be a crucial bat for the Padres to stash in 2025.
In addition to his excellent efficiency in Cactus League play, which has preceded him throughout his career, the dynamic outfielder could be a key X-Factor for the Padres.
Gonzalez is well remembered for his heroics as a member of the Cleveland Guardians during the 2022 MLB postseason.
