As the 2025 season approaches, all eyes will be on second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who was chosen by the Falcons with the eighth overall choice in the 2024 NFL Draft and is unquestionably the team’s future.
It would be prudent, though, to surround him with as many roster players as possible. In light of this, Atlanta has been mentioned as a possible suitor for a defensive star who is highly fascinating.
For a few weeks now, Jaire Alexander has been a name to keep an eye on in NFL circles. The Green Bay Packers seem to have plans to move or cut the standout cornerback.
Even if they haven’t moved yet, it is anticipated that they will before the 2025 season.
Could the Falcons be among the teams interested in signing Alexander if and when the Packers decide to cut him? Alexander would be their best option, but they could require more defensive secondary assistance.
In just seven games during the 2024 season, Alexander recorded 16 tackles, a fumble recovery, two interceptions, a defensive score, and seven defended passes.
Alexander has only been able to participate in seven games annually for the past two years. That is the reason Green Bay is considering letting him go. The Falcons would be smart to try him out despite the injury concerns.
According to David Latham of Last Word on Sports, if Alexander goes up for sale, Atlanta might be a possible suitor.
When all is said and done, Alexander will want to watch Atlanta. The team should think about chasing him even if he doesn’t end up being available.
