BREAKING: San Antonio Spurs’ Possible Trade Package for Kevin Durant Revealed Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox return to the lineup next season

The San Antonio Spurs should be in the running for the playoffs once De’Aaron Fox and Victor Wembanyama are back in the lineup the following season. An outstanding young lineup would consist of Fox, Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, and Harrison Barnes as the starting five, with Jeremy Sochan, Keldon Johnson, and two talented rookies coming off the bench.

Nonetheless, Kevin Durant has been connected to other teams, including the Spurs. The Spurs would be instant title contenders if Durant were added with Wemby and Fox, but the fan base is split, primarily due to his age of 36.

Even though Durant is a superior player than Castle, it’s fair to believe the Spurs would be hesitant to sell him because Castle was deemed untouchable during the Fox trade negotiations with the Sacramento Kings.

According to ClutchPointsBrett Siegel, “The San Antonio Spurs are one dark-horse team worth mentioning in connection with Durant.” “After just making a big move to pair De’Aaron Fox with Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs are poised to make even more moves this offseason.”

“There have been whispers among league personnel about the possibility of the Spurs pursuing Durant and creating the best offensive trio in the league next to Fox and Wembanyama,” Siegel said.

The league insider went on to say that Barnes and Vassell were the Spurs’ top trade options. It’s difficult to argue against the Spurs acquiring Durant for the inexpensive cost of Barnes, Vassell, and possibly Blake Wesley in addition to three draft picks. The Spurs would likely retain one of their two picks in the 2025 draft, allowing them to fill the wing hole or backup center position. Durant would take up Vasssell’s scoring responsibilities, and Sochan may fit into the lineup.

After this fictitious deal, the Spurs would be able to keep five of their eight picks between 2025 and 2031, which would enable them to further add talent after Durant retires.
Naturally, the Spurs would only accept a deal if Durant committed to a deal that went past the upcoming campaign, thus ensuring that he would play his last years in San Antonio.
