On Tuesday night, the Golden State Warriors trounced the Phoenix Suns, 133-95. With the victory, the Warriors stay in sixth place in the Western Conference, while the Suns are officially eliminated from playoff contention. The Suns have had an extremely dismal season, and their top forward, Kevin Durant, is still out for the fourth consecutive game due to a sprained ankle.
Every time the Warriors face Durant’s club, the rumor mill starts spinning. Durant spent three seasons with the Warriors, helping them win back-to-back NBA titles in 2017 and 2018.
Despite being sidelined on Tuesday, Durant and Steph Curry talked after the game, sparking suspicion that Durant is preparing to rejoin the Warriors.

Durant, 36, is under contract with the Suns until the conclusion of next season but will become an unrestricted free agency before the 2026-27 NBA season. However, Durant’s name was included in several trade rumors leading up to this season’s trade deadline.
The latest Curry-Durant incident has fueled speculation that the Warriors could trade for the 15-time NBA All-Star this offseason.
The Warriors, one of the NBA’s greatest dynasties, arguably achieved their greatest success when Curry and Durant shared the court. They made three consecutive NBA Finals trips (from 2017 to 2019), earning back-to-back championships for the first time in franchise history.
Curry, 37, has a contract with the Warriors until the 2026-27 season, so reuniting the likely Hall-of-Fame combination before the end of next season would need a blockbuster deal.
