BREAKING: Padres Manager Mike Shildt Shares a Huge Twisting and Conflicting Update on Padres’ Fernando Tatis Jr Injury

The San Diego Padres have been one of the finest teams in the MLB this season, battling the Los Angeles Dodgers for the NL West title.
The Padres nearly matched the Dodgers’ perfect start, winning their first seven games on the way to a 10-3 record. However, the injury bug has struck them a little in recent days.

On Friday, the Padres received an encouraging report on that front. Fernando Tatis Jr., a star outfielder, has been suffering with a shoulder ailment, but he told reporters on Friday that he did not anticipate to be placed on the injured list, according to 93.7 The Fan.

“No, nothing like that,” Tatis stated about the injury. “Like I said, everything is good and moving in the right steps.”

He also gave an update on how the injury was progressing, even as he prepared to play through it.

“No pain, just some uncomfortable movement,” Tatis explained. “But then after that, everything is good and moving forward.”
Tatis was removed from Tuesday’s loss to the Athletics due to an injury after only two at-bats. He did not start on Wednesday, but his availability off the bench suggested that the injury was not significant and that he would return to the field shortly.

It remains to be seen whether Tatis will return on Thursday night in the first of a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies, but his sentiments should be very positive for Padres fans.

The Padres are dealing with enough injuries after Jackson Merrill and Jake Croenenworth were placed on the injured list. Losing Tatis as well would have been devastating, so it’s a good thing he’s recovering swiftly.

Tatis has been on fire this season and is a force in the Padres’ lineup. He is 16-for-44 at the plate, with a.364 average, two home runs, and seven RBIs in 12 games.

He has also drawn seven walks and reached base more than 44% of the time, proving that he remains one of the league’s greatest batters.

With this injury not holding him back, he should be able to continue his progress as the Padres make another playoff push.
