Miami, FL – The Miami Heat enter the playoffs with history on their side and the heart of a legend.
After a remarkable comeback victory in the Play-In Tournament, the Heat became the first 10-seed in NBA history to clinch a playoff position, reigniting faith in South Beach – and none other than Dwyane Wade is leading the way.
The Heat icon and three-time NBA champion took to social media following Miami’s exciting 123-114 overtime victory over the Atlanta Hawks, in which Tyler Herro and Jaime Jaquez Jr. delivered a game-changing effort.
Wade, who is never afraid to recognize talent when he sees it, had high praise for the youthful duo. “These guys have that Heat DNA,” Wade wrote on X (previously Twitter). “Fearless, unwavering, and prepared for the moment. “I’m proud of this squad.”
The poignant tribute from one of the franchise’s most revered legends was well-received, especially after a season marked by injuries, inconsistency, and skepticism.
Tyler Herro, who scored 30 points and took over in crunch time, has emerged as the team’s emotional leader in Jimmy Butler’s absence. Meanwhile, rookie sensation Jaime Jaquez Jr. continues to surprise with his poise, grit, and high-energy performances.”It means everything to hear that from D-Wade,” Herro said after the game. “He’s the standard here. We’re just trying to carry that torch.” Jaquez echoed the sentiment, saying, “That’s love. D-Wade paved the way for us. We just want to make him proud.” The Heat will now face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, a matchup that’s already drawing intrigue. With Wade’s voice adding fuel to the fire, fans are rallying behind the team.
While many had written Miami off after a rocky regular season, the franchise once again proved why it should never be counted out. With legacy, heart, and momentum on their side, the Heat enter the postseason with more than just a chance — they enter with belief.
And with Wade watching, that belief just got a whole lot louder.
