The Falcons may have just signed a backup quarterback on Monday. According to Josh Kendall, the squad has signed an agreement with Easton Stick.
If the Falcons keep Kirk Cousins, the veteran will undoubtedly be Michael Penix Jr.’s backup; however, if they can find a trade partner for Cousins, Stick has a strong chance of making Atlanta’s final 53-man roster.
Stick joined the NFL in 2019 with the Chargers, where he has spent every season since. He did finish the 2023 season as the starter in lieu of the injured Justin Herbert. During that time, he accumulated 1,125 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception, as well as 142 yards on the ground and another touchdown.
Kendall stated that Cousins is not anticipated to report for voluntary workouts, so the Falcons will still have plenty of QB options. If Cousins is traded, Stick will battle with Emory Jones for the backup position.
