Fortunately, San Diego Padres player Luis Arráez avoided serious harm during a terrifying collision on Sunday night. Unfortunately, the Padres will be without Arráez for at least a week. On Monday afternoon, San Diego placed the three-time batting champion on the seven-day disabled list. The San Diego Union-Tribune stated that Arráez, 28, is in concussion protocol.
Arráez collided with Mauricio Dubón, the Houston Astros’ second baseman, in the first inning of the Padres’ 3-2 win. Replays showed that the All-Star designated hitter’s face collided with Dubón’s arm or elbow.
