The Philadelphia Phillies are not only playing awful baseball, but also were swept by the New York Mets, so tensions are high. The Mets and Phillies do not like each other, nor do their fan bases. This is one of Major League Baseball’s most intense rivalries, therefore any sweep between the two clubs causes resentment on the opposite side. However, despite the Phillies’ dismal performance against the Mets earlier in the week, it was not their worst. The Mets only defeated the Phillies by one run in two games, and it doesn’t matter whether a club loses by ten or one run; they weren’t embarrassed.

“We just need to play better baseball,” Harper told Matt Gelb of The Athletic. It all begins with Harper, one of the best players in Major League Baseball. During the early half of the season, he hit.250 with five home runs and an OPS+ of 137. These figures are little lower than his previous ones, but he should improve over the next few weeks as the season progresses.
