The Los Angeles Lakers had an interesting offseason, adding three crucial players.
In addition to the new players, the club is led by LeBron James and Luka Dončić.
However, their offseason does not have to end yet. In reality, they could make a significant move, as suggested by Nick Halden of LA Sports Hub, in which James reunites with his former teammate.
“(Kevin) Love is an NBA champion who understands what it means to deal with the pressures of playing under LeBron,” Halden stated on Wednesday, September 10.
“Having this brings an incredible level of value, even if Love isn’t able to contribute to the back of the rotation.”
“No question, if Love hits the market, the Lakers shouldn’t hesitate to pounce on what is a perfect fit.”
Kevin Love won a championship with James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, playing a key role in their 3-1 comeback.
He has had a long career in the league, receiving the Most Improved Player award in his third season and averaging 16.2 points and 10 rebounds per game.
His nine-year career in Cleveland, with James and Kyrie Irving, demonstrated his ability to contribute to a championship-winning team.
The Lakers’ rotation is currently lacking in centers, and Love will play little part with the Utah Jazz.
Aside from Deandre Ayton, they’d have to rely on Maxi Kleber and Jaxson Hayes.
Reuniting Love with James and adding Dončić, an excellent playmaker, may lead to a championship-winning squad.
