ESPN NEWS: Browns have agreed a Blockbuster trade with Dallas Cowboys KEY starter which has anger the fans Cowboys

Cowboys fans are still upset about the team’s previous transaction with the Cleveland Browns. Dallas sent Amari Cooper to Cleveland in exchange for a 2022 fifth-rounder and a sixth-round pick.

Rumours are spreading regarding potential moves the Cowboys could make this winter. Bleacher Report provided potential trade proposals for all NFL teams. One trade proposal has the Browns and Cowboys teaming up again for another receiver.

In the trade proposal, Dallas sends Brandin Cooks to Cleveland in exchange for a 2024 fifth-rounder (No. 134) and a fifth-round pick. The prospect of the Cowboys sending another receiver to the Browns is bound to enrage Dallas fans.

According to Bleacher Report’s January 29, 2024 article “Complete NFL Offseason Trade Guide for Every NFL Team,” Brandin Cooks could be a top trade option. “They would save $4 million against the cap by trading away the veteran, and they paid a low draft fee for him last offseason anyhow.

“Some of Cooks’ best work in Houston occurred in 2020, when he had Deshaun Watson throw him the football. The Browns are now desperate to ensure that Watson lives up to the trade package and compensation they gave up to acquire him. If reuniting the two is the solution, it must be considered.”

The Dallas Cowboys likely regret trading Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns.

Dallas would be advised not to move Cooks until it gets another receiver in return, as the Cowboys found when they traded Cooper. Since joining Cleveland, Cooper has enjoyed back-to-back seasons of 1,000 yards or more.

In 2023, the playmaker tallied a career-high 1,250 yards and five touchdowns. Cooper had 1,160 yards and nine touchdowns the previous season.

Instead of keeping Cooper, Dallas signed Michael Gallup to a five-year contract worth $57 million. Gallup has not been able to make the same impact since suffering an ACL injury at the beginning of 2022.

The good news is that CeeDee Lamb has emerged as one of the best receivers in the NFL. However, Dallas has been unable to locate a steady second receiver since trading Cooper.

Cowboys Rumour: Will Dallas Consider Trading Brandin Cooks?
Despite a poor start, Cooks came on strong in the team’s stretch run during his first season in Dallas. Cooks totaled 54 receptions for 657 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2023.

According to Bleacher Report, Cooks, Gallup, and tight end Luke Schoonmaker are the Cowboys’ “top trade assets.” Given his large deal, Gallup is unlikely to have a trade market. The wideout is more likely to be a cap casualty rather than dealt to another team.

Cooks is expected to have a $10 million cap hit next season. This appears to be more than adequate for a secondary receiver alongside Lamb. It is the final season of Cooks’ two-year, $39.7 million contract.
Dallas would be wise to keep Cooks, but they should also be looking to sign another receiver. This might come from the draft, but the team requires a player that can contribute right away. There is one certainty: if the Cowboys trade another talent to the Browns, fans will protest outside The Star.
