A new era of Michigan football has begun with Sherrone Moore’s promotion and recent appointment as the program’s head coach.
As the new head coach of the reigning national champions, he will be hosting his first recruiting weekend, and one of the East Coast’s top prospects will be on campus.
Rowan Byrne, a four-star offensive lineman at New Rochelle (NY) Iona Prep, has confirmed to The Michigan Insider that he will make an unofficial visit to Michigan this weekend.

The 6-foot-6, 297-pounder has been to campus before, recently visiting for the Ohio State game in late November.
The Wolverines offered him in June, and he has since developed a solid bond with Moore. Grant Newsome, the new offensive line coach, recently visited his school and began to create that bond as well.
“It was definitely great,” Byrne told the Michigan Insider. “I’d already been gently developing a relationship with him, but today was especially wonderful.
“He’s certainly up to the task, having played the position and spent time with Coach Moore.” I believe he will be as good an offensive line coach as anyone.”
Byrne presently has 20 scholarship offers in his recruitment.
There are no 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions available at this time.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Byrne is the No. 264 overall prospect in the 2025 class, the 24th best offensive lineman in the country, and the best player in New York for his class.
