DONE DEAL: Boston Celtics have announced the signing of NBA top Free agent to final roster spot

The Boston Celtics have agreed to terms with free agency forward Lamar Stevens, according to The Athletic.

Stevens, 26, started 25 of Cleveland’s 62 games last season, averaging 5.3 points and 3.3 rebounds.

He was undrafted out of Penn State in 2020 and played in 165 games (38 starts) for the Cavaliers over three seasons. On July 6, he was part of a three-team deal involving the Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, and Miami Heat, and he was waived by the Spurs on July 17.

Stevens, known for his defensive abilities, can help overcome the loss of Marcus Smart in a trade to the Memphis Grizzlies in June.
