“I’ve known and admired Lance throughout my scouting career. “He is a highly respected talent evaluator and a great leader who will fit seamlessly into what we’re building here in Washington,” Peters said in a statement. “Lance is a phenomenal person, and he will immediately elevate our overall personnel function here at the Commanders.”

Before joining the Lions, the senior executive was a scout for the San Diego Chargers. He collaborated with former Washington general manager Bobby Beathard.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to join the Washington Commanders. “I am excited to join Adam, Coach Quinn, and the rest of the organization in the DMV this week,” Newmark stated in a news statement. “It was evident throughout this process that Josh Harris is tremendously devoted to running a first-rate business and producing a championship-caliber football club, which made this opportunity particularly remarkable. His enthusiasm for restoring this franchise to greatness is palpable.”
