ESPN NEWS: Steelers are Now Favoured to Land Top NFL Quarterback In a Blockbuster trade

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Pittsburgh Steelers have emerged as the overwhelming favourite to sign Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson. They tweeted a graphic indicating that they opened at (+1400), which is pretty low odds, and are currently represented as the heavy favourites at (-110) to land him.

So, could Wilson join the Steelers and compete with Kenny Pickett for the starting quarterback position?

As we all know, Wilson is expected to be released by the Broncos in the coming days and weeks, and his possible suitors are becoming known. The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to be active in the veteran quarterback market. They have a decent roster and coaching staff, which helped them make the playoffs despite having Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, and Mason Rudolph at quarterback this season. So Wilson, despite his declining performance, would be an upgrade for them.
All of this appears to be driven by Adam Schefter, who just went on The Pat McAfee Show and linked Wilson and Fields to the Steelers.

“We know the Pittsburgh [Steelers] is gonna go out and get some type of quarterback,” he stated. “It could be Ryan Tannehill, Russell Wilson, or Justin Fields. Mike Tomlin is a huge supporter of Justin Fields. We’ll keep it in mind over the offseason and in the following weeks.

Anytime we see significant movements like these from Vegas, it’s worth noting and keeping an eye on in the future. Wilson is apparently “quietly shopping” his mansion, which he purchased when he was traded to the Broncos, and it appears that he could be released here soon. If that’s the case, the Steelers appear to be interested in signing the veteran quarterback.

At the end of the day, it looks Wilson’s stay in Denver is over. This is not surprising, but there was some late discussion that the two parties would be able to reach an agreement, and who knows? However, it appears like it will end in a divorce. If it does, we might see Russell Wilson in black and yellow next season.

The Steelers will face the Denver Broncos in Mile High next season.
