AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli is going to take a close look at a number of backup players over the next couple of weeks as he tries to learn more about his squad, a report claims.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), the Italian coach knows that he needs a much deeper squad than he had last season and in theory, the summer’s transfer activity has provided that.
He now needs to see it in practice, which means players like Samuel Chukwueze, Noah Okafor, Yacine Adli and Luka Jovic showing they can come into the starting eleven without hindering the ability of the team.
There are four games coming up over the next 10 days between Serie A and the Champions League which means that, along with injuries being an issue, Pioli cannot use the same players repeatedly.
Adli could be getting his chance thanks to Rade Krunic’s injury.
