ESPN NEWS- GREATEST SHOCK: Chicago Bears Shocks NFL Fans with First QB Prospect Chosen for Interview

At this stage, it is widely assumed that the Chicago Bears will select a quarterback with the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. While Justin Fields’ performance in 2023 showed promising signs, it was insufficient to persuade the Bears to look at the draft for a replacement.

While the belief is that they will select USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the first choice, the Bears must conduct due diligence on the other QB prospects in the class to ensure Williams’ position as the ideal match for their club.
The team has apparently begun questioning some of the candidates, but the first name on the list may surprise some fans.

Chicago Bears interview NC Central QB Davius Richard as draft process gets momentum.
Sports According to Mockery’s Erik Lambert, GM Ryan Poles and his scouting team expressed interest in NC Central’s Davius Richard following his impressive performance in the Hula Bowl.
It’s understandable if folks are unfamiliar with him or his game. NC Central is a historically black college or university (HBCU) that receives little interest from football players in the top conferences. However, he impressed sufficiently during the bowl that the Chicago Bears are looking into him.

He stands 6’2″ and weighs 220 pounds, making him NFL-sized. Richard is also an outstanding athlete. His dual threat talent was on full show last year, as he rushed for 630 yards and 18 touchdowns. That would lead one to believe he is a rush-first guy. They would be foolish to think so. Richard has the ability to hit the ball with incredible velocity. It comes out of his hand with a zip, demonstrating his ability to fit through narrow windows. As a senior, he threw 21 touchdowns and four interceptions, considerably exceeding his previous season’s performance.
While Williams is likely to be the Chicago Bears’ starting quarterback, it is not a terrible idea to cover your bases. They might give him a Day 2 or Day 3 choice in the NFL Draft if they believe Davius Richard is skilled enough to make an impact in the NFL.
