The date and time of Town’s Carabao Cup third-round matchup against Wolverhampton Wanderers of the Premier League at Portman Road have been set for Tuesday, September 26, with a kickoff time of 7.45 p.m.
The Blues defeated Reading 3-1 on penalties following a 2-2 draw at the Madejski Stadium in round two last week to advance to round three for the first time in eight years.
Manager Kieran McKenna expressed his satisfaction with the draw in a statement on Friday.
It was a significant incentive to acquire a Premier League team, he said. “We spoke about it with all the boys before the [Reading] game.”
