The Las Vegas Raiders signed linebacker Robert Spillane last offseason, which turned out to be one of the league’s top free agent signings. Spillane would finish near the top of the league in tackles this season. Spillane was teamed with fellow linebacker Divine Deablo, a converted defensive back who had missed numerous games the previous season due to injuries. Spillane came into this season ready to prove he could play every down as a starting linebacker. Deablo came into the season ready to show that he could make the entire move to linebacker and survive the physical demands of the position. Both linebackers have proven themselves. Still, the Raiders might benefit from adding another talented linebacker to their roster.
Pro Football Focus Brad Spielberger believes the Raiders have the opportunity to sign one of the greatest free-agent linebackers on the market. This time, it may be linebacker Devin White, who has spent his entire five-year career with the Buccaneers.
“Raiders linebackers coach and run game coordinator Mike Caldwell was the inside linebackers coach for White’s first three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,” according to Spielberger. “So White returns to play for the man who helped coach him up right out of the gate as a top-five pick in 2019.”
Spielberger believes the Raiders will add the veteran linebacker to their already formidable roster.The Raiders also have a former NFL linebacker as their head coach, and while Robert Spillane and Divine Deablo provided solid play down the stretch, both have contract years in 2024. A high-upside bet on a terrific talent is an excellent method to fill out the depth chart.” The Raiders’ defence is just a few pieces away from becoming one of the finest in the league. Signing a seasoned linebacker like White might help the Raiders’ defence improve significantly.
The NFL Draft will take place in Detroit, Michigan, on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders presently have the 13th overall pick.
