A league source verified to AllPacers that Quenton Jackson will sign a two-way contract with the Indiana Pacers. Shams Charania of The Athletic was the first to report the deal. Jackson, a taller guard, is in his second professional season. He spent part of his first season in the Washington Wizards organization, playing in both the G League and the NBA. He appeared in nine games with the Wizards, averaging 6.2 points and 1.7 assists per game. His NBA debut occurred against the Pacers in February 2023. He had 19 points and five assists in Washington’s season-ending game against the Houston Rockets, his third double-digit scoring performance.
Jackson appeared in three preseason games for the Chicago Bulls this season, averaging five points per game. He did not make the Bulls roster, but has spent the season with Chicago’s G League team, the Windy City Bulls. In 38 games for Windy City, Jackson averaged 16 points and 5.8 assists. While his long-range shooting has declined since his rookie season, his overall game has improved. Jackson took a pre-draft workout with the Pacers in June 2022. “I think it went well,” he stated at the time. The 25-year-old was undrafted before arriving in Washington.
A league source told AllPacers that Jackon’s new two-way contract is for one year. He will be able to divide time between the Pacers and their G League franchise, the Indiana Mad Ants. Jackson may play in 12 of the Pacers’ remaining 20 games per the terms of his two-way deal.
Indiana had an open two-way slot after signing Kendall Brown to a three-year contract, as reported by AllPacers yesterday. Brown was previously on a two-way contract but filled the Pacers’ final open roster position. Indiana had to use that space before March 4, which was the deadline for teams to sign players to two-way contracts. They decided to bring in Jackson, who was having a good season in the Bulls system.
The Pacers’ roster is finally filled. When the Jackson signing is finalized, they will have 15 players on normal contracts and three on two-way contracts.
