ESPN NEWS UPDATE: Browns Reportedly in Advance Talks with SEC Intriguing QB Prospect After Andrew Berry Meeting With Player

The Cleveland Browns’ quarterback situation should be settled by now.

However, if they learned anything last season, it was that there is never enough depth at the game’s most vital position.

With that in mind, it appears that they are conducting due diligence on a lesser-known player who may be available in the later stages of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Joe Milton III - Football - University of Tennessee Athletics

That is, of course, provided he isn’t drafted early following the buzz around his great pro day.
Former Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton astounded everyone at his Pro Day on Wednesday, throwing some remarkable deep passes in front of reps from the majority of the league’s teams.

He demonstrated his confidence and agility by performing a backflip to celebrate after one of his tosses.

According to Devin Jackson of the Philadelphia Inquirer on Twitter, Milton is scheduled to visit with the Browns.

He’s not expected to go as high as other quarterback prospects, but he’s agile and strong enough that a team should take a chance on him.

Hendon Hooker entered the league in the third round last season, so Milton might be the next former Volunteer quarterback to turn professional.

Needless to say, the Browns already have a surplus at this position.

While Deshaun Watson is clearly the starter, they’ve already added Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley to a quarterback room that already includes Dorian Thompson-Robinson, so even if they sign him, he’s unlikely to play at any point next season.
