HUGE BLAST: Oregon Ducks Star Bo Nix Sends a Bombshell Message to Broncos Fans and Sean Payton – “it would be a blast”

Could Bo Nix, the Oregon Ducks’ standout quarterback, be the next Denver Bronco? Former star NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III believes this scenario as a fantastic fit for both sides, discussing the pairing of Nix with coach Sean Payton on his RG3 and The Ones show while interviewing the 2024 NFL Draft candidate.

The Ducks’ Heisman-nominated gunslinger was a five-year starter in college and was named Pacific-12 Offensive Player of the Year this fall. In his final season, Nix threw for 4,508 yards and 45 touchdowns to just three interceptions, while also gaining 234 yards and six scores rushing. In 2022, Nix rushed for 510 yards and 14 touchdowns, demonstrating his ability to get outside the pocket and his willingness to put his body on the line. Payton mentioned this as a must-have for his future quarterback in February.

Nix also meets Payton’s starting height of 6-foot-2 for his potential quarterback. The statistics also hint at one of Payton’s specifications: accuracy. Nix was the most accurate quarterback of the group last year, connecting on 77% of his passes. A follow-up to 72% a year earlier. The high completion rate, combined with the scoring and absence of turnovers, is quite appealing.

Nix believes he’d fit in well in the Mile High City.

“He’s well-known for what he and Drew Brees accomplished together,” Nix explained on RG3 and The Ones. “It was a rapid game where I got the ball out and used my timing, which I enjoy. That is what we did so well here at Oregon.”
Nix has praised the Broncos before, stating last month that Payton is “special.”

In Payton’s first year, the Broncos improved from five to eight wins. The former Super Bowl-winning head coach is expected to stay in Denver for a long time, and this is his first opportunity to choose his quarterback after inheriting Russell Wilson and his contract in year one. If Nix is anything like Brees, their marriage will be a success, since the two led the Saints to victory for a decade as Brees became one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

Nix may be the person for Denver, and he has been mocked at times, but commentators are divided on what range he will be selected—or when the Broncos will really select—amidst a flurry of trade speculation. The last time Denver selected a quarterback in the first round was Paxton Lynch in 2016.
