Perhaps the only thing that compares to the excitement of filling out a March Madness bracket is constructing a mock draft. The options are unlimited, and there’s always a sense of accomplishment when some of your picks come true on draft night. Of course, there is the feeling of disappointment when your mock does not match reality.
A mock draft is highly useful, regardless of how things turn out. It gives you a better picture of which positions teams want to fill with their first-round choice. It can also help you predict which teams will move up or down in the first round.
There were no trades in my mock draft, but based on how things are going, no one needs to move anywhere. The Giants, for example, have acquired the man they are apparently interested in, who might push Daniel Jones this season. The Vikings were rewarded for their patience, as they were able to select a quarterback with the 11th overall pick, just like New York. The Bills, who recently traded top wideout Stefon Diggs, also remained put, although they were able to select one of the draft’s best receivers.
Will things actually turn out that way? It’s difficult to predict, but one thing is certain: quarterback names will fly like hotcakes throughout the draft’s first night. Several clubs are in need of a quarterback, which should make for an entertaining night.
Without further ado, here is a comprehensive look at my first-round mock draft.
