DEAL AGREED: Buffalo Bills Reportedly Interested in Adding All-Pro Weapon for Josh Allen in Blockbuster Trade

The Buffalo Bills enter Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft in the same position they were when the event began on Thursday evening.
At the very least, from a roster perspective. Buffalo increased its draft capital by withdrawing completely from the first round. It currently owns the first pick in the second round (33rd overall) and a total of five picks from the next 125.

Deebo Samuel, Buffalo Bills
This allows general manager Brandon Beane to address needs on both sides of the ball. He might also choose to move up for a specific target or include a veteran in the mix.

We now have some real information on this from Mike Giardi of the Boston Sports Journal. He claims that Buffalo, along with the New England Patriots, are interested in San Francisco 49ers All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel.
This is significant because Samuel’s name was not widely discussed until the week leading up to Thursday’s NFL Draft. The majority of the talk has been about San Francisco trading Brandon Aiyuk. However, after adding fellow receiver Ricky Pearsall to the mix Thursday night, attention shifted to Samuel being moved.

Will the Buffalo Bills complete a Deebo Samuel trade?

Steelers Now Have Shot at Deebo Samuel?
There are numerous difficulties involved in this. First and foremost, an acquiring team would be responsible for his $20.97 million base salary next season. Buffalo is not in a position to take on that responsibility, hence an extension/restructure would be necessary.

Second, reimbursement for travel to San Francisco may be an issue. Technically, Buffalo is in the greatest position because it has the first pick Friday night. The team could trade that selection for, say, a fifth-round pick and call it a day.

What we do know is that Buffalo is in serious need of a wide receiver after trading Stefon Diggs earlier this offseason. Whether the team spends the 33rd pick on a receiver or adds Samuel to the mix, something appears to be going on.
