DONE DEAL: The Brave Have Completed and Announced The Signing of Two Infielders From The Red Sox

The Atlanta Braves made two trades involving infielders on Thursday. They acquired utility infielder Zack Short from the Boston Red Sox and traded infielder Luis Guillorme to the Los Angeles Angels, both for cash.

Guillorme was traded to the Angels after playing five games at second base and one at shortstop for the Braves this season, as well as one inning of relief pitching. Guillorme, 29, had a batting average of.150 in 20 at-bats. He formerly played with the New York Mets from 2018 to 2023, with a lifetime batting average of.258.

Recently acquired Red Sox INF Zack Short traded to Braves

The Red Sox designated Short, 28, for assignment on Wednesday before trading him to the Braves for cash. Short got no hits in seven at-bats for Boston after being acquired from the Mets on May 1.

Luis Guillorme Is Latest Former Brave To Join Los Angeles Angels
Previously, the Mets designated him for assignment on April 26. Short has played numerous infield positions this season and has a.177 lifetime batting average with 13 home runs, 55 RBIs, and eight stolen bases in 189 games between Detroit (2021-23) and the Mets.
