The Denver Broncos are in week two of a three-week program known as voluntary organized team activities (OTAs). Week 2 begins May 28 and finishes May 30. Week three starts on June 3 and ends on June 6.
So far, nine players have skipped the first week of OTAs, including their Pro Bowl offensive weapon, who will continue to sit out.

Sutton is in the third year of a four-year $60.8 million contract. He earns a $13 million base salary with a $2 million guarantee and a $17,395,576 cap hit in 2024. He also has a $13.5 million basic salary with no guarantees and a $17,825,000 cap hit in 2025.
He is looking for a raise and more guaranteed money.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Sutton wants a raise of $2 or $3 million.
“He’s due about $13.6 million in cash this year,” Fowler told Heavy’s Josh Buckhalter. “He would want to see that increase to around $15-$16 million. Let’s see whether they can discover a sweet spot.”
Their head coach is not concerned about him missing OTAs.
Sean Payton isn’t concerned that the Pro Bowl wide receiver is skipping OTAs.
“There is no concern,” Payton stated. “Here’s the reason: I know Courtland. He’s an excellent worker. You’re familiar with him. [He] is our team’s leader and has an incredible makeup. That will work itself out.
An update regarding the contract dispute
The Broncos have spoken with Sutton and his representatives, but no meaningful movement has been made, according to Jeremy Fowler.
“The Denver Broncos have spoken with Sutton and his representatives. There has been no genuine development yet. So, while they were hoping he’d show up for OTAs, he might not.”
