SAINT LATEST NEWS: One Thing The Saints Must Get Figured Out In Order To Have Success In 2024

The New Orleans Saints face a make-or-break season in 2024. New Orleans has a 25-26 record over the last three seasons, missing the playoffs each time. The projected easy transition from the Drew Brees-Sean Payton era has been anything but. Now, the Saints are aiming for success in 2024, or they will be entering a new era shortly.

This summer, New Orleans needed to address a number of objectives in order to return to the playoffs. Among the priorities were increasing pass rush, rebuilding the offensive line, and overhauling the offence. The Saints addressed all three issues by signing Chase Young, drafting Taliese Fuaga, and appointing Klint Kubiak as their new offensive coordinator.

Now, as New Orleans progresses through the offseason program, there are a few more things the club needs to work out before the season begins. NFL writer Kevin Patra recently highlighted what should be the top priority for the Saints to address. Patra suggested that getting quarterback Derek Carr and new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak on the same page should be the team’s primary focus for the remainder of the summer.

Derek Carr and Klint Kubiak must be on the same page as the Saints start the season.

Patra outlined the top remaining offseason objective for all 32 teams, emphasizing how essential the relationship between Carr and Kubiak will be for New Orleans. Patra stated that Kubiak’s Shanahan Scheme is a quarterback-friendly offence that will help Derek Carr succeed. However, in order for everyone to benefit from the offence, Carr must understand what he is doing.

Patra continued his remarks by echoing concerns expressed by many this offseason: if Carr and Kubiak can’t figure it out and the Saints have another dismal season, New Orleans may decide to fire everyone and start over.
